I. Case-Based Discussions of Growth Hormone Deficiency and Transitional Care

September 29, 7:00 – 8:30 PM (registration/meal service 6:30 – 7:00 PM)

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to: 1) recognize the differences in the clinical and diagnostic features of pediatric versus adult growth hormone deficiency cases; 2) describe the transition of patients from adolescent to adult care; 3) re-assess GH status in transitional adolescent patients to avoid adverse changes in body composition and bone density; 4) optimize GH replacement and dosing and monitoring in deficient adult patients to minimize cardiovascular risk; and 5) apply GHD and improve patient outcomes through continued monitoring of patient care.

II. Current Quandaries and Advances in Fracture Prediction and Osteoporosis Therapy

Thyroid Ultrasound Introductory Workshop: October 2, 5:30 - 9:30 PM
Ultrasonography is a critical skill in today’s endocrine practice. This four-hour course is designed to introduce participants to the use of ultrasound in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules and perform ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspirations. Earn CME credits toward Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU). The workshop covers the following lectures.
